This kit 14-204 allows you to have all the supplies needed to begin screening with Lipid Profile + Glucose (10-991).

The LDX System consists of a small analyzer that uses disposable test cassettes. The LDX is "CLIA-waived" under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988 and CRMLN Certified. The system is simple to use, requires little training and is as reliably accurate as those tests offered in a lab. In most cases, Medicare and third-party health insurance reimburse the costs of the LDX System tests.

The Lipid Profile + Glucose cassette measures total cholesterol (TC; which is a measure of the total amount of cholesterol in the blood at any given time), High density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (referred to as the "good cholesterol") and triglycerides or TRG (fatty acids and glycerol that circulate in the blood and are stored as body fat) as well as glucose (GLU; which is a measure of blood sugar). Lipid Profile GLU also calculates the TC/HDL ratio, non-HDL cholesterol, and estimates the level of LDL cholesterol (referred to as the "bad cholesterol").

Quality Control procedures include testing specimens of known concentrations (called "controls"), recording, and interpreting the values to verify system performance.
